Geolocation in Internet using network topologies
Dvořák, Filip ; Verner, Lukáš (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
The thesis discusses about modern geolocation methods and it describes the basic principles of their work. The work is divided into 2 parts - the theoretical one and the practical one. The first part of the thesis is focused on the description of these methods and on the explanation of its basic concepts which are used for determining of the physical position of the station according to its IP address. The second more extensive part of the work focuses on the description of the realization of algorithm in the Octant method in the programming language of Java and its use in the experimental net of PlanetLab. One important thing is to create a set of reference points and targets, which are necessary for the testing of the whole algorithm of the Octant Method. The results of estimated accuracy of target location obtained by the Octant method and their comparison with the results obtained by active methods of CBG, SOI and with the passive method of GeoIP are listed at the end of this work.
Use of optical cable properties for geolocation in the Internet
Chmelař, Jakub ; Verner, Lukáš (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the IP geolocation which estimates the geographic location of hosts in the Internet network. The knowledge of geographic location can be used both for targeting specific services and information, such as advertisement or weather forecast, and for better utilization of transport network because it is possible to serve content from sources which are located closer to client. The main topic of this thesis is the Speed of Internet geolocation method (SOI), which is an active method based on measurement of latency in network. The theoretical part of the thesis explains how to perform these measurements and briefly describes a few more active geolocation methods. The practical part includes full description of SOI implementation created using Python programming language. This implementation was subsequently used to accomplish a sequence of measurements which allowed accuracy comparison with other geolocation methods. The final part of this thesis evaluates results of these measurements and offers a few possible changes which could improve accuracy of described implementation.
Impact of Extinguishing Substances on the Environment
Čtvrtníček, Pavel ; Buřík, Richard (referee) ; Valášek, Rudolf (advisor)
Considering of there is a constantly developing industrial and transport infrastructure, development of new chemicals and their application in the market there are also demands on fireman increasing , and fire extinguishing agent technology, which are with fires hazardous substances used. Therefore, I was in my thesis focused on how to evaluate extinguishing agents as classic as modern. Then I tried to describe the work process of soil remediation after the warehouse fire with hazardous materials. The benefit of my thesis will be a comprehensive overview of the extinguishing agent used and extinguishing procedures, which may be a suitable gadged for the commander of intervention in dealing with this type of extraordinary incident.
